Summer 2017, head to Sardinia for crystal clear waters
The Guida Blu (Blue Guide) by Legambiente and Touring Club, a ‘compass’ for finding your way around the coastal resorts, has included five Sardinian coastlines in the top ten in Italy.
In the ranking of coastal resorts awarded 5 Blue Sails for environmental sustainability and quality of services, in first place is Chia (Domus de Maria). On the third step of the podium is Baronìa with the Tepilora park, fourth is Baunei and eighth is Planargia di Bosa. The northern part of Gallura closes the top ten.
In the extreme north of Sardinia, Santa Teresa Gallura is the top municipality, followed by La Maddalena, Palau and Arzachena. Together they comprise an inimitable stretch of coastline, including the Maddalena Archipelago Park, more than 60 islands, both large and small, where Budelli with its Rosa beach, the breathtaking inlets of Caprera, Santo Stefano and Spargi stand out, destinations for boat tours amidst unique sea colours, natural monuments and diving paradise. Not forgetting the beaches on the island of La Maddalena: Bassa Trinita, Cala Lunga, Monti d’a Rena and Punta Tegge. The long coastline of Santa Teresa is to be searched palm by palm, starting from Capo Testa, with Valle della Luna and beaches of Ponente and Levante. The symbol of environmental sustainability and quality of services is inside the village: Rena Bianca, fine white sand that plunges into the ever-clear blue sea. Palau is another example of protection and beauty: granite coastline and sandy stretches, such as the charming Porto Faro, the exotic features of Cala Trana and the natural paradise of Isola dei Gabbiani, home of windsurfers. As for the Arzachena sea, it is enough to mention the beaches of Porto Cervo and Costa Smeralda.
